Executive Leadership Specialist Program
Executive Leadership Specialist Courses
Formerly known as Executive Development Leadership Initiative Certificate
The Executive Leadership Specialist Program is designed for shelter executive directors and others in leadership positions within the animal shelter, animal welfare, and humane fields. By addressing key elements of organizational effectiveness, the courses in the program give participants information and training to deal with the dynamic forces at work in these specific humane communities. Using the latest research and experienced instructors, this program will strengthen the ability of executive directors and other institutional leaders to meet the challenges of matching their organization’s mission and vision to the resources at hand.
Three courses are required to earn the Executive Leadership Specialist designation, the first course, Managing Emotions in the Work Environment, is ongoing and self-paced. The second and third courses are instructor-led and offered several times during the year. Courses may be taken in isolation without signing up for the entire program.
