Volunteer Management Specialist Program
Volunteer Management Specialist Courses
Volunteers are a critical component to effective animal shelter and animal welfare work. Recognizing and managing this valuable asset well can lead to success for any organization – just as not recognizing or managing it can contribute to failure.
HSU's School of Continuing Education Volunteer Management Specialist program offers five online courses, ranging from recruiting volunteers to managing challenging volunteers. Participants will learn how to develop a new volunteer program or improve an existing one. Courses are developed and led by experienced instructors who have run volunteer programs in many different environments. The courses will help participants learn from instructors – and share with each other – tips on volunteer management from animal care organizations across the nation and beyond.
A prerequisite and four core courses are required to earn the Volunteer Management Specialist designation. Courses may be taken in isolation without signing up for the entire program.
Courses in the Volunteer Management Specialist Program are:
-
