Despite shared goals of increasing adoptions and decreasing euthanasia rates, shelters and rescue groups sometimes have strained relationships. In this webinar, we discuss concerns that might lead to mistrust and ways we can move forward in healthy and productive partnerships. Restoring the relationship between shelters and rescue groups is one of the easiest ways we can ensure that more animals leave the shelter system and are placed into good homes!
About the Presenters: This webinar will be presented by Jane Hoffman, President and Chair of the Board of Directors, Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, and Jody Jones, Shelter Manager, Dallas Animal Services.

Ms. Hoffman, a native New Yorker, helped found the Mayor's Alliance in 2002 and has served in her current position since then. The Alliance works with more than 150 shelters and rescue groups to build strategic initiatives to reduce euthanasia in the city's shelters. An attorney, Ms. Hoffman is a Founding Member and former Secretary and Chair of the New York City Bar Association's Animal Law Committee, the first of its kind in the United States.

Ms. Jones is currently Division Manager for the City of Dallas Animal Services. Prior to coming to Dallas, she served as the City of New York's Director of Animal Care and Control, and later Division Manager for the City of Richmond Virginia Animal Care and Control, where her innovative programs to reduce euthanasia rates became a model for communities across the country.
