College of Arts and Sciences Procedure for Application

Note: This page describes the application process for students who want to pursue an undergraduate degree, graduation certificate or degree through HSU's College of Arts and Sciences. Individuals wishing to register for a non-credit, online course or onsite workshop should go to the School of Continuing Education site and register for courses there.

Step 1: Create an Account

You must create an account within HSU's registration system.

You may register at the following address: https://hsu.maestrosis.com

Step 2: Submit Your Application

Once you have created an account, you will have to complete the online application. The application requires that you write a 250 - 750 word essay, provide references, provide previous education information, and fill out personal information. International Students will also be required to submit an international education evaluation report and TOEFL scores to demonstrate English language proficiency. Note: The registration system will time out after 2 hours. Due to this and the inability to save information within the system for later use, it is best to write the essay portion using a word processor before beginning the application process. You will be able to copy and paste your text into the application field.

Step 3: Remit Application Fee

Once you submit your application, you must pay the $35, non-refundable application fee. Your application for admission will not be examined or processed until the application fee is paid.

Step 4: Order transcripts from all colleges and universities attended

Official transcripts should be ordered from the office of the Registrar at all previous institutions attended. Please have transcripts sent to:
